Ken Schneider draws on his experience as both a student and a teacher, from his career in industry to his encore career teaching elementary students.
A purpose that
developed over time.
Many years ago, Ken began teaching computers and programming to his own children and their classmates. Over time, that became a way to share more of what he had learned about computers, problem solving and working through difficult situations.
Teaching was also a recurring part of his career in industry, where the students were often his colleagues. Helping someone understand an unfamiliar situation remained an important part of the work.
He now shares those experiences with his grandchildren and their classmates. The book and Forge Discovery course provide a way to reach far more people than he could teach on his own.
Other educators can use the course with their students and draw on the book’s educational ideas. Readers can also consider how those ideas could help in their own studies, work and everyday lives.
